    Hi.

I downloaded the free child theme “Beauty Spa Salon” from wordpress’ theme library. It installed ConsultStreet free version along with the child theme.

Now I purchased ConsultStreet Pro and installed it successfully.

In the themes section of my wordpress I could see all 3 themes: Beauty Spa Salon, ConsultStreet (free) and ConsultStreet Pro.

The problem is, the Beauty Spa Salon child theme was still using the ConsultStreet free version theme, not the pro version theme.

So I deleted the free version, and now my site went gone. Error said: “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

I went into recovery mode, reinstalled ConsultStreet free version, and now my site is back. However the Beauty Spa Salon child theme is still using the free theme, not the Pro theme.

How can I make the child theme use all the features of the pro theme instead of the free theme?

    Also,
if I install new WordPress sites, how do I add other child theme designs, such as BrightPress, FitnessBase, etc. to the ConsultStreet Pro theme?

    Hi Norbert

Thanks for contacting us. Don’t worry we are here to help you.

When you activate the ConsultStreet Pro then it will automatically display with pro features of the Beauty Spa Salon theme.

Please follow the given help article to install and activate the ConsultStreet Pro version of the theme https://helpdoc.themearile.com/?docs=consultstreet-pro/getting-started.

It will help you to configure the theme.

    Have a nice day.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply.
What you suggested did not work the right way.

After activating ConsultStreet Pro, it changed the colors pink and some font types, but none of the content came over from the Beauty Spa Salon child theme.

It shows the exact same front page layout, slider pictures, text paragraphs as the ConsultStreet Pro template theme. (For example it’s got business men running around, instead of beautiful women relaxing in the spa getting a treatment.)

I need every content over to ConsultStreet Pro from my Beauty Spa Salon child theme exactly the way it is. Front page layout, text paragraphs, thumbnail pictures, slider pictures, etc…

I also tried a brand new wordpress install, after which I installed ConsultStreet Pro, exactly as it was directed. Then I installed Beauty Spa Salon child theme. In the middle of installing it, it told me it is requiring (the free) ConsultStreet 1.8.2 as a parent theme for it to work, and then it went ahead installing that one too.

When I activate the free ConsultStreet theme or the Beauty Spa Salon theme, both use the free theme not the pro.

When I activate ConsultStreet Pro, it switches colors and fonts over to that of Beauty Spa Salon, but does not bring pictures, articles, layouts over.

Also, if start manually bringing over all content to ConsultStreet Pro, and setting everything to make it look exactly the same as Beauty Spa Salon by hand, that would take a long time to do.

And I’m afraid once I later upgrade to newer version of the Pro theme, it will overwrite the current pro theme and all content will be gone that I manually set up.

    What should I do?

    Hi Norbert

Please check your first test demo https://higherwisdom.org/wptest1/.

We have installed and activate the ConsultStreet Pro theme in your site and your free site data also migrated on your site.

Now you can can change the home page section content as per your requirement.

Let us know if it works.

    Thanks

    Thanks.

This works. I see how you migrated and customized the theme. I can continue doing my own customization and adding my own content.

So I can now delete the Beauty Spa Salon child theme and the ConsultStreet free version, as it does not effect this, right?

What will happen when a newer version of Pro comes out, and I upgrade the current theme. Will it overwrite all customization? Should I try to make this into a child theme instead to avoid losing my customization?

    Hi Norbert

Don’t worry about it because your customization will not loss when you upgrade the pro theme package.

    Thanks

There are only 3 things I could not customize in Pro to make it look exactly like the original Beauty Spa Salon theme. I looked everywhere and just couldn’t find options for them.

    Original reference: https://beauty-spa-salon.themearile.com/

    1)
At the “Services We Offer” section on the front page, the pictures have two of their corners rounded (left bottom and right top corner). How do I do this in the Pro theme? Is this a custom CSS?

    2)
At the “Our Treatments” section on the front page, (which is actually the Projects section), the background color is darker gray, while the other 2 sections, Services and Testimonials, have almost white background. How do I make the Project section darker gray in Pro? Is this also custom CSS?

    3)
On my site, when I mouseover the pictures under “Our Treatments” on the front page, an Eye icon appears at the top right of the picture. When I click this eye, the picture is shown in full size. I want to remove this eye icon. On the original template this does not happen. On mouseover there is no eye icon in the top right. So how do I get rid of this?

    Thank you for your help.

You can see my final results at:
    higherwisdom.org/wptest3/

I saved everything (folder, data .xml, customization .dat), so now if I upgrade the parent theme, I wont lose my stuff for sure.

I did a new install of WP and ConsultStreet Pro, created a new child theme and manually migrated all the rest of the stuff that was missing from my Beauty Spa Salon child theme.

Now my child theme is using Pro as a parent and all the content looks exactly like Beauty Spa Salon!

…except for the 3 things I told you in the previous post that I need help with.

Thank you. The custom CSS worked well.
