Featured Image Sizing?

Every featured image I’ve uploaded has been 1920×1080, but there is always this white bar that appears at the bottom of the image on the front page of my website, and it’s always a different size. What is the proper resolution for a featured image for an article??

Please follow the recommended image size for the theme.

Recommended Image Sizes For All News Section Widget:
Logo – 294px x 51px
Blog Featured Image – 1100px by 795px
Featured News Section:

Featured Image – 482px by 684px

Even with those, there are still white bars. Maybe we could just leave the padding but change the color from white to a darker color? Also, the ad banner image does now show up.
