I began using the free version of ArileWP from GoDaddy. I purchased the pro version and received a confirmation email with two files – arilewp-pro and arilewp-pro-child-theme.

After not knowing what to do with these files I found a youtube video that showed me how to upload the file to my website. I uploaded the arilewr-pro file and this allowed me to make improvements to my site because of the extra features the pro theme provided. I have no idea what the arilewp-pro-child-theme does and/or if I am supposed to upload this file as well. If so, please explain that process to me.

I am new at website building, but love the ease of building the website and appearance of the theme when viewing the website, but I need some guidance.

    My website is http://www.allprohomeinspection.com

    Thanks,
    John

    Hi John

If you need some code customization, then you have to use arilewp-pro-child-theme. If you directly code customize in the ArileWP Pro theme then your customization will be lost when you update the theme.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks

OK, so do I upload the arilewp-pro-child-theme file? If so, I am assuming the upload is the same way I uploaded the arilewp-pro file? Also, does the arilewp-pro-child-theme file replace the pro theme file and will the dashboard for page building and editing look and do the same as it currently does?

    Hi John

No, you don’t need to upload the “arilewp-pro-child-theme” package. You will need this when you customize something in the parent theme. That is why you can only upload a parent “arilewp-pro” theme now.

Actually, we provide this “arilewp-pro-child-theme” package in advance.

So use the “arilewp-pro” theme package and build your good website.

I hope your confusion has cleared up.

    Thanks
